Cariten Healthcare to Offer First Horizon Msaver HSA

Overland Park, KS, (Oct 26, 2006): First Horizon Msaver, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with Cariten Healthcare, a Knoxville, TN, health insurance company, to administer Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) for Cariten's commercial and individual members with HSA-qualified high-deductible health plans.

HSA-qualified health plans give all types of employees more control over their healthcare expenses by combining a lower-premium, high-deductible health plan with a health savings account. The HSA is an account that an employee uses to set aside funds on a pre-tax or tax-deductible basis to pay for routine healthcare such as office visits, prescription drugs or lab tests. Money that isn't spent during the year rolls over to cover future healthcare expenses. First Horizon Msaver works with leading health insurance companies like Cariten to set up HSA programs for employers and their employees.

Under the First Horizon Msaver program, members will be able to take advantage of Web-based technology that makes opening and funding these accounts faster and more convenient. Members who enroll in a qualified high-deductible health plan will have the ability to go online to complete an application to open an account. They may also initially fund the account electronically during the same online session. Once accounts are opened, employers may use an online funding portal to make on-going deposits to their employees' accounts.

Insurance agents who market Cariten's products will be able to receive in-depth training on high-deductible health plans and health savings accounts.
