Benefit Administrator Medcom to Offer First Horizon Health Savings Account to Employers

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Feb. 19, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- First Horizon Msaver, Inc. announced today that it has been selected by Medcom, a leading employee benefit administrator based in Jacksonville, FL, to serve as the Health Savings Account (HSA) administrator for Medcom's employer customers who offer HSA-qualified health plans to their employees.

HSA-qualified health plans give all types of employees more control over their healthcare expenses by combining a lower-premium health plan with a health savings account. The HSA is an account that an employee uses to set aside funds on a pre-tax or tax-deductible basis to pay for routine healthcare such as office visits, prescription drugs or lab tests. Money that isn't spent during the year rolls over to cover future healthcare expenses.

Under the First Horizon Msaver program, employer groups who offer their employees HSA-qualified health plans will be able to take advantage of processes that make opening and funding these accounts faster and more convenient. Plan members will have the ability to go online to complete an application to open an account, or use a paper enrollment form. Once established, the account features many benefits such as online banking and online bill pay, as well as three investment options for larger balances. Meanwhile, employers will be able to select from several options available to them for funding the accounts on an on-going basis.

"Medcom distinguishes itself from competitors by its flexibility and personalized service in all interactions with clients or with their employees and plan participants," said Michael J. Bracken, president of Medcom. "Employers who recognize the value of Medcom's unique Flexible Benefit products will also appreciate the best in class HSA product that we are now able to deliver through First Horizon Msaver."

E. Craig Keohan, president of First Horizon Msaver, said, "We are very pleased to have Medcom working with us. We see a great deal of similarity in the way our two companies approach the market in that we both emphasize service, education, and training, including providing support at employee enrollment meetings."
